Playing catchup now it seems like the Monkey in the Middle scenario sums up many of the relationships in my life. The exception is my friendship with F---.

So now he spent life standing on the northbound platform watching the third train go south. Occasionally he'd hit bottom and catch his reflection and try and get back on track by wedging himself into my life. Ugly, deformed, ignorant pearls falling from his mouth.
